Office of the Public Guardian / Court of Protection

Although enduring powers of attorney were replaced with lasting powers of attorney in 2007 if you had an enduring power of attorney in place then there may come a time when this needs to be registered with the Office of the Public Guardian because you can no longer look after your own affairs.

We offer a fixed fee service for the registration of both enduring and lasting powers of attorney. We also advise on the appointment of deputies where there is no power of attorney in place, statutory wills, gift applications and all nature of applications to the Court of Protection for and on behalf of someone who can no longer look after things themselves.

Visit the website of the Office of the Public Guardian.

Frettens are pleased to offer a free initial consultation for all new clients. We have always offered this service because we recognise the importance for clients of deciding whether they can work with a particular solicitor and to find out more about the process and likely outcome. Our private client lawyers offer positive, down to earth advice, and we hope that this initial meeting allows you the time to see this as well.

Contact a member of our Private Client Team to arrange a free initial appointment at either our Christchurch or New Forest office, where you will be able to meet your solicitor with no obligation or charge.
