Employment Law & HR Training

We offer a quarterly training session on Employment Law and HR issues.  The sessions include a briefing from our employment specialists on a set topic and a practical discussion, working through hypothetical situations.

For the first session of 2020, Kate and Paul will be joined by Chris Dobbs, the newest member of the Employment team, to explore the issues surrounding managing mental health in the workplace.

Mental health is a highly topical issue and one that is appearing more and more both in the workplace itself and in disputes between employees and employers. Kate, Paul and Chris will be using a series of linked presentations and case studies to explore;

  • What we mean by mental health and what the obligations are to employees
  • Where we are with mental health within employment law
  • Issues surrounding ‘work-related stress’
  • Managing sickness absence caused by mental health problems

Hopefully, the session will be of real value in providing practical tips to handle mental health issues in the workplace.

The Employment Law Training is aimed at those managing HR issues, whether at Director or Assistant level. They provide an excellent opportunity for HR professionals to meet, share ideas and discuss employment issues, learning from Employment lawyers and also their contemporaries.
