Frettens Solicitors in Christchurch are delighted to announce the completion of their first Home Information Pack (HIP) within two working days, 10 days after the launch of the scheme on 1st August. The first order came for a property in the Bournemouth area via Headstart Estate Agents. Branch Manager of Headstart, Karl Rusk, commented “We are delighted to be working with Frettens as they handled the HIP order so swiftly and efficiently, particularly given the newness of the scheme.”
Having invested huge amounts of time and effort to ensure that they were ready for HIPs, Head of Conveyancing at Frettens, David Walton, and the rest of the team were pleased to see their systems working well with the first order. Completing the HIP in two days also shows that the introduction of HIPs should not delay the process of selling homes.
HIPs are mandatory for all properties marketed for sale with 4 bedrooms or more. It is proposed to extend this to smaller properties as soon as possible - Phase 2 of the implementation will include properties with 3 bedrooms or more, followed by Phase 3 to include all other properties.
HIPs can be ordered by agents or by individual sellers via a simple form on the Frettens website. The Frettens HIP is competitively priced at £299 (inc VAT) and offers the reassurance of using a well established local firm of solicitors whose large team has many years of property transaction experience. Unlike many other Pack providers, Frettens do not make any additional charges if the property is leasehold or unregistered. The only additional fee for leasehold property is the fee charged for required information by the managing agent. Frettens HIP fee is based on Frettens carrying out the conveyancing which will be on a no sale, no fee basis.
