Tara Jones, Trainee Solicitor at Frettens, provides her top tips for students looking to apply for legal placements and describes her own experience as a placement student.
We are bright, modern and accessible. We offer a full range of services for businesses and individuals based on these key principles.
We select the best and brightest professionals to work at Frettens.
Our team are not only experts in their field, but excellent communicators with a positive, can-do approach to helping clients.
We have been a leading firm in the area for over 40 years but have a thoroughly modern approach to law.
We invest heavily in IT, making life easier and more efficient for both our clients and our team.
We are flexible, and embraced flexible working long before the pandemic. Our team can work remotely, seamlessly. If you want to speak to your lawyer, you can pop into one of our offices, call us, email, or have a video conference.
We are constantly improving. Our partners and management team are constantly looking for ways to improve the service we offer our clients and the environment we provide for our team.
We thoroughly believe that law should be accessible to all.
As a client, you will always have your lawyer's name, email, and direct contact number.
Your first meeting with us is always free. People shouldn’t be put off seeking legal advice for fear of being charged to be told they don’t have a case.
We use plain English. We don’t hide behind unnecessarily complex ‘legalese’.
We share knowledge and expertise. Tens of thousands of people read, watch and listen to our updates every month. We publish blogs, articles, reports and webinars on the subjects that matter to our clients, free of charge – take a look here.
Just like our team, our offices are bright, modern and accessible. If you are in Christchurch or Ringwood, we are conveniently located in the town centres. If you are from further afield, we are only a phone or video call away. Get in touch here.
What makes Frettens different?
Ian Girling from Dorset Chamber of Commerce and Industry, sat down with Managing partner, Matt Fretten, to talk about how the firm has grown, and what sets us apart.
Frettens was founded in 1978 by Ian Fretten as a sole practitioner in Christchurch, dealing with residential property, wills, probate and trusts. The firm grew steadily over the years, providing additional commercial services and establishing itself as a leading law firm in the town.
We are now a growing medium-sized law firm of around 70 staff. We offer a full range of services for individuals and businesses, with clients from all over the UK.
Free initial meeting
A free initial chat with one of our bright experts lasts around 30 minutes and usually takes place over a cup of tea or coffee, either at our Christchurch or Ringwood offices.
At present, most appointments will take place over the phone or by video link. Where a face-to-face meeting is necessary, we have put the required safety measures in place.
Call us on 01202 499255 or fill in your details below, and one of our friendly team will be in touch to arrange your free meeting.
