A team of six members of staff from Frettens Solicitors, plus two additional team members, took part in the Three Peaks Challenge on 25th - 27th June 2008. The team included one of the firm’s Partners, Paul Solomons, Richard Wootten (Office Manager), Chris Paterson (Private Client Executive), Lianne Maling (Accounts Administrator), Mandy Johnson (Conveyancing Assistant) and Karen Barnes (Archivist). The team were able to raise over £700, which was split between a two charities, The Firefighters Charity, who organised the event, and The Wessex Cancer Trust, Frettens’ nominated charity of the year.
The basis of the Three Peaks Challenge is that fit, adventurous people attempt to climb and travel to the UK’s three highest peaks in a demanding 48 hour endurance test. The Frettens team began by climing Ben Nevis in Scotland, then drove to Scafell Pike in Cumbria for a second ascent and the final challenge was Snowdon in North Wales.
Paul Solomons said “In 2006 Frettens put a Three Peaks Challenge together so some of us that took part then knew the extent of the challenge ahead! Unfortunately this year we were hampered by terrible weather conditions which resulted in a number of injuries to the team. It was exhausting but exhilarating and we are pleased to have raised so much money for the charities. Most importantly, we had a really good time - it was an amazing event which we won’t forget.”
Frettens Solicitors are delighted and proud that each member of the team was able to take part in the challenge.
