Local Business Donation to Christchurch CAB

The Christchurch Citizens Advice Bureau recently held a fundraising event at the Captain’s Club Hotel, the area’s newest contemporary hotel. The networking lunch was attended by 109 local prominent business people, including the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Christchurch. Over £3,200 was raised for the CAB.

Frettens Solicitors organised the event on behalf of the CAB, donating their time and contact list to the effort as well as contributing financially. Two Frettens’ Partners, Paul Solomons and Ianthe Slinger, are Trustees of the CAB and they felt that they could combine their interests of business networking with the funding needs of the CAB.

CAB Chairman, Paul Solomons comments “Christchurch Citizen’s advice Bureau is a local charity helping people to resolve their money, legal and other problems by providing free advice, information and assistance. It relies heavily on donations to carry on it’s work. We are delighted to have been involved in raising money and the profile of the CAB with local business people. While this money will help the Bureau enormously, the ultimate benefits are to many people from our community.”

Christine Cook, Christchurch CAB Manager said “I wish to say a big thank you to The Captains Club and Frettens for making the event happen, and also to all of our guests and those that donated raffle prizes for their support and generosity. The event was a resounding success and we are overwhelmed with the money raised, which will greatly assist us in our aim to open our office for an extra half day each week.”
