Legal Myths and Old Laws

Join Malcolm Niekirk for his monthly Insolvency Coffee Break Briefing

Although it’s intended to be light-hearted in tone, Malcolm hopes to bring out some serious and useful points about our legal system, and how laws are made and repealed.

So, for example, you may have heard of some these?  Are they true?

  • Mince pies are banned at Christmas.
  • It’s legal to kill a Welshman within the walls of the city of Chester.
  • Cabbies have to keep a bale of hay in the boot of their cab in London.
  • Pregnant women can pee in a policeman’s helmet.
  • There is an Act of Parliament that sets a fixed date for Easter.
