Steven works as our Learning and Development Trainer.
Work
Steven joined Frettens in May 2026 as the firm’s first dedicated Learning and Development Trainer, and could not have joined at a more exciting moment for the firm.
He brings 27 years of experience in adult education, including the past 15 years in corporate learning environments. His background spans language learning, customer service, sales, and software training, with a strong focus on designing learning that works in real-world, high-pressure settings.
Most recently, Steven led the end-to-end training programme for a major platform migration at a national financial services firm. That experience is exactly what brought him to Frettens at this particular moment, with a significant technology transition on the horizon and a real opportunity to shape how the firm learns and grows.
His approach is always people first and ensures that when things change, colleagues feel prepared, supported, and confident rather than rushed. The role focuses on delivering learning that enables adoption, reduces disruption, and helps people succeed through change.
He also holds AgilePM Practitioner and Scrum Master certifications and is currently working towards PRINCE2 Foundation.
With a keen interest in behaviour change, he is currently exploring this further through a course with UCL, deepening his understanding of how people adopt new habits and ways of working.

Steven is Brazilian born and bilingual in English and Portuguese. He recently made the move from Bournemouth to Christchurch, a corner of the world which he particularly loves.
Outside work he is in the midst of a somewhat ambitious garden renovation that his family pretends to support enthusiastically. Steven is also a passionate DIY enthusiast, though will openly admit that his ambition consistently outpaces my ability!
Football plays a big part in his life. He is a proud supporter of Fluminense Football Club from Rio de Janeiro and is currently accepting applications for an English team to adopt.
