Major Employment Solicitor Recruits for Frettens

Property and Employment - Major Commercial Appointments for Frettens

Frettens LLP are thrilled to announce three key new solicitors joining the firm. Oonagh McKinney joined the firm as a Partner from 2nd January to lead Commercial Property work at the firm. Oonagh joins Frettens with vast experience from Lester Aldridge where she has been a partner in their Real Estate Team since 1996.

Kate Fretten and Jennifer Maddocks also join Frettens as Employment Associates from Lester Aldridge, setting up a stand alone Employment Department. With excellent local reputations, each of these three crucial hires will assist in evolving the commercial presence of Frettens as they join the firm on the brink of an exciting year.

Senior Partner, Ian Fretten, says “Oonagh will have a very positive influence on the development of our Commercial Property work; since our initial discussions with her, we have been enthusiastic about the experience, contacts and impact that she offers our firm. Our philosophy is to offer up-to-date, proactive advice and to deliver it in a friendly, down to earth style; with that in mind, Oonagh is proving to be an ideal Partner for us.”

With a wealth of experience in this area, Oonagh was keen to get started at Frettens; she comments “It is an exciting time to join Frettens, and I am looking forward to building upon the Commercial Property work they already undertake, helping them to develop new contacts and playing my part in fostering the growth of their commercial reputation. With 90 staff, Frettens is considerably smaller than LA, but as a Partner, it is inspiring to be a big part of the growth, strategy and operations of an emerging firm.”

Joining at the beginning of February, Kate and Jennifer are similarly optimistic about the prospects at Frettens. Jennifer says “We have noticed the continued growth and increased profile of Frettens in the last year or two and we anticipate our skills will develop the firm’s reputation for employment work. We also look forward to playing a greater role in the management and introduction of new work to the department.” Kate comments “It is an exciting opportunity to control the direction our own department and Frettens has an excellent reputation and client base for us to build upon. I am confident that our arrival will assist in developing the commercial profile of Frettens in the area.”

Regarding the arrival of Kate and Jennifer, Ian says “All of us are delighted with both appointments; employment law is a very complex area and we are glad to have two solicitors with such expertise and experience. We believe that these three appointments will add considerable substance and credibility to our commercial teams”. Frettens provide a full range of specialised legal services to private and commercial clients, with a modern, common sense approach.
