Best Companies have now released their latest league tables for 2023 and Frettens have been recognised for the seventh year running.

The group base their ‘best companies to work for’ rankings on an anonymous employee engagement survey, completed by all of our team. Here’s how we fared this year…

Our 2023 Rankings

Best companies have revealed that we have retained our title as an ‘outstanding’ company to work for and now place in the Top 50 Best Mid-Sized companies to work for in the UK.

In addition, we ranked as the 28th best company in the South West and the 11th best law firm to work for in the whole of the UK!

“Regular employee engagement surveys like this one really help us to gain an understanding of what we’re doing right, what we can improve on and where to initiate change.” Says Managing Partner Matthew Fretten.

The anonymity that the Best Companies survey provides is also not to be overlooked. It’s crucial that our team feel that they can be totally honest in their feedback.

We take the Best Companies survey very seriously and are therefore thrilled to see that we have improved our rankings yet again this year. It certainly gives us peace of mind that things are heading in the right direction.”

Featured Workplace Factors

As well as the main rankings, Best Companies also pointed out some ‘Featured Workplace Factors’ where the firm performed particularly well.

According to the survey:

  • 85% of staff agreed that their job is good for their personal growth
  • 86% of staff agreed that Frettens have a strong social conscience
  • 94% of staff agreed that they love working for Frettens

Furthermore, Best Companies highlighted ‘Private Healthcare’ and ‘Women in Senior Management’ as key benefits; with us offering private healthcare to all employees and over 40% of our Senior Managers being women.

Managing Partner Matthew Fretten continues: “Compared to 2021, we have made a marked improvement in these workplace factors; with our ‘Personal Growth’ rating increasing by 10% and our ‘Social Conscience’ improving 8%.

These improvements coincide with our cumulative efforts to prioritise these areas, with career progression in particular becoming a crucial part of our ethos in the last two years.

With that being said, there’s always room for improvement; but the future continues to look bright at Frettens.”
