Niki Adkins, Head of Frettens’ specialist Residential Leasehold Property Team, has been promoted to Partner!

Niki joined the firm in 2017 to establish a specialist residential leasehold property team and has overseen a period of significant growth. She has grown the team and established Frettens as one of the leading firms in the region for this type of work.

Matt Fretten on Niki’s promotion

“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Niki as a partner of the firm”, said Matt Fretten.

“Her team has grown and prospered under her leadership, especially in the last two years, with the addition of three new team members.

She is seen as, without doubt, one of the leading practitioners of her area of law in the area, referred to by many property agents, surveyors and managers from across the UK.

Whilst her professional knowledge and expertise is excellent, it is her commitment to developing her team members and working collaboratively with other departments that makes her an obvious choice for promotion.

I am really excited about how much further Niki can take her department, as it continues to grow in both size and reputation.”

Career progression at Frettens

Niki is the ninth new partner to be appointed at Frettens in the last three years, in a period of unprecedented growth at the firm.

“Of the nine new partners we have appointed in this period, six have been promoted from associate, which is something we are really proud of.” Added Matt.

“The driving force behind our growth plans is to retain the fantastic team of experts we have put together and give them the opportunity to develop and progress their careers at Frettens. Niki, along with several others, has grasped that opportunity with both hands.”

Niki Adkins on her promotion to partner

Niki is delighted with her promotion and is looking forward to the challenge of building on her team’s recent success.

“I have felt really supported in my efforts to establish and grow the residential leasehold team at Frettens over the past five years.

I was given the opportunity, trust, and space to establish my team and build it in the way that I felt best served our clients and referrers. Initially within the Commercial Property Team, with the guidance of Oonagh McKinney, and now as a standalone department.

I love helping new team members develop their own skillsets and careers and hope I can enable them to achieve their ambitions in the same way I have been able to.

It has certainly been a challenging and exciting five years at Frettens and I cannot wait to see what the next five will bring.”

Exciting times for Frettens’ growing property offering

The news of Niki’s promotion comes at an exciting time for Frettens’ property teams, as Patsy Whitford (Commercial Property), Jennifer Smith (Residential Property), and Will Bartley (Property Litigation) were all promoted to Associate. (link to story) (read more about that here)

Hannah Faith, in Niki’s residential leasehold team, passed her legal executive exams and has been promoted to leasehold property executive, as has Laura Mabin, who is promoted to senior paralegal in the residential property team.

The firm’s property offering is bolstered further by the arrivals of Jo Weller and Becky Langley to the residential property team as conveyancer and paralegal respectively.
