In his latest article, Beach Hut Specialist Richard Ramshaw discusses how much a beach hut is likely to set you back, why some are so expensive and the process involved in buying.
Determining whether a worker is employed or self employed is not always easy and HMRC has updated and improved its test tool to help with this. The Employment Status Indicator (ESI) tool enables you to check the employment status of an individual or group of workers to see whether they are employed or self-employed for tax, National Insurance contributions (NICs) or VAT purposes.
The ESI tool is essential for anyone who takes on workers, such as employers and contractors. Individual workers can also use the tool to check their own employment status.
Employment Associate Paul Burton says, "The tool cannot, however, be used to check the employment status of certain workers, such as company directors, agency workers or anyone providing services through an intermediary."
