Promotion for our Solicitors

Frettens are pleased to announce some recent promotions at the firm.

Head of Conveyancing Clare Hallett, is being promoted to Partner. Clare who joined the firm in 2002, trained and qualified at Frettens and has extensive experience in both commercial and residential property. She now heads up the Residential Conveyancing Team and will also take on the role of training principal for the firm’s trainee solicitors.

Wills & Tax Solicitor Malky Chaloner and Commercial Solicitor Karen Edwards have both been promoted to Associate.

Malky joined the firm as a Solicitor in 2013 and has recently qualified as a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT). The ATT is a professional accountancy body and Malky is now one of a relatively few solicitors to hold a dual legal and tax qualification. She is also a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. She advises on Wills, Powers of Attorney, Trusts and estate administration.

Karen joined the firm in 2008 and subsequently completed her training contract at Frettens qualifying into the Commercial team in 2011. She deals in all aspects of non-contentious company and commercial work including business start-ups, commercial contracts and business sales and acquisitions.

Matthew Fretten, Managing Partner, says “We are delighted that Clare, Karen and Malky’s achievements at the firm can be recognised with these promotions. They are all great assets of the firm and have worked hard to progress their careers and develop their own growing individual reputations. Congratulations to all three of them.”
